SURROUNDING
AREA
 View from the Mont Llor

The
landscape is one of Tossas most
prized treasures. The town is protected
by the Massif of Cadiretes, a natural
area of great ecological value, which is
criss-crossed by a large number of footpaths
which are an invitation to stroll, to
relax, to meditate and especially to
contemplate a landscape of cork-oaks and
pines, full of the colors and scents of
the Mediterranean. Tossa is essentially
Mediterranean, and its beaches,
coves and bays symbolize one of the most
emblematic landscapes of the Costa Brava.
|
But Tossas
value doesnt only lie on its
natural richness. The village
itself is an immense historical archive
presided over by the medieval walled
enceinte of the Vila Vella, declared a
historical and artistic national
monument, whose stones enfold eight
hundred years of history. It has long
been -and still is- a den of artists and
bohemians.

 Pola Beach-
A essence of the Mediterranean
Its Museum has
works by Marc Chagall and many other
painters and sculptors who have been
inspired by the light and colour of
Tossas streets and alleyways. Tossa
has maintained the equilibrium between
its past and its present, and today it is
a modern tourist centre offering a great
variety of accommodation, services and
leisure activities, so that visitors will
enjoy a good holiday.
